Frequently asked questions

A rollover contract is an agreement between your business and the supplier that is automatically renewed (rolled over) when the contract matures or completes. It stays active – and you continue paying – until it’s cancelled by either party. Most business contracts are ‘evergreen’ which means they will automatically renew if you don’t give the relevant notice prior to the contract anniversary date. Some suppliers keep 90% of their customers this way. It sounds like an easy option to just let it roll on.

The big ‘but’ is that you may well be rolled over onto uncompetitive or inflated prices and not even be aware of it. It’s how many businesses come to be paying far more than they thought. Just by being aware of it, you can come to us at any time to do a stock-take for saving money.

Normally, your supplier will write to you any time from 120 days before the contract ends to tell you of their intention to roll you over. This mean your renewal window is now open and the onus is on you to terminate it. The best way is to end your contract in writing immediately by recorded delivery or email receipt. Just make sure you come to us first so we can create a seamless switch over to a more cost-effective contract.

Yes, it’s simple. Just call Energy Save Experts on 0333 577 6889 and we’ll manage everything else for you. We will advise you to send your termination letter to your existing supplier so you’ll avoid being rolled over. We’ll then get you the best new rates because it’s our vocation and we love saving you money!

Three quick checks here.

1. Did you give enough notice to terminate your contract before it was due to end?
2. Could there be an outstanding, unpaid balance on your account?
3. Have you been locked into your contract for longer than you thought?

As long as these three points are OK, your supplier shouldn’t have any reason to object to you leaving. But if anything should get in the way, we would simply postpone your transfer until the first possible date and re-apply to the supplier on your behalf. Prices may change so, naturally, we would always make the comparisons for you and save you as much as possible at the time – up to 70%.

It normally takes between four and six weeks to complete your switch from one supplier to another. We manage the whole process for you. The transfer is seamless and you will not be cut off as a result of switching. We always keep you up to date as it’s all going through. If you have any questions before or after your money-saving switch, just have a word with your Personal Account Manager on 0333 577 6889.
